ScotiaBeach – Nova Scotia’s Longest-Running Beach Volleyball Club
ScotiaBeach is proud to be the longest-running beach volleyball club in Nova Scotia, offering athletes a premier training experience led by Beate Shannon, a Performance Certified Coach and two-time Canada Games Coach.
Program Details:
Start Date: June 2, 2026 (after all Volleyball Canada Indoor National Competitions conclude)
Training Schedule:
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Volleyball Nova Scotia Beach Park
261 Commodore Drive, Burnside, NSEnd Date: August 6, 2026
For players wishing to attend Nationals, additional training will be scheduled. Nationals training and support is an additional cost and not included in the registration fees.

No partner? No problem! Players actively seeking partners are welcome.

With a vision for building competitive beach volleyball in Nova Scotia, Beate Shannon founded ScotiaBeach in 2016. Since then, ScotiaBeach has become a cornerstone for athlete development, offering high-performance training and mentorship while supporting athletes at national competitions year after year.

Beate brings extensive experience leading high-performance beach and indoor programs, having coached in both the AUS and ACAA conferences and earning recognition as CCAA Coach of the Year. Her leadership has shaped athletes and programs across the province, fostering a culture of excellence and growth.

Under Beate’s guidance, ScotiaBeach continues to elevate beach volleyball in Atlantic Canada—creating pathways for athletes to compete at the highest level while building a strong, supportive community.
Kobe Shannon brings a wealth of volleyball knowledge and competitive experience to ScotiaBeach. A dedicated athlete and leader, Kobe started playing beach volleyball in 2013 and quickly made his mark on the national stage.
Career Highlights & Achievements:
🥈 Canada Games Silver Medalist (2017) – Represented Team Nova Scotia as a blocker. This historic performance remains the most successful result for an Atlantic Canadian team in Canada Games history—across both indoor and beach volleyball.
🥉 2016 Volleyball Canada 21U Beach Nationals – Bronze medal finish at the national level.
🏆 NS Beach League Champion – Proven success in provincial competition.
🏆 Atlantic Beach Tour Champion – Dominated regional tournaments.
🏐 Dalhousie University Tigers Alumni – Collegiate athlete with strong indoor experience.
